CASTELLO DI SAMMEZZANO

NON PLUS ULTRA

As a family we are honoured to have the responsibility for the rebirth of this unique property and park. Sammezzano cannot be possessed, we are to act as guardians of this magic place for the future generations. We are extremely grateful to all those who have supported us in this process.

We will be taking the correct time to plan and build the future of Sammezzano. Repeating our promise to open the park and castle to the public, we will be opening the Fondazione Sammezzano shortly to take forward the public facing elements of this great property. At the sametime an extensive hospitality operation will live alongside these public elements and details of our plans will be revealed as soon as is feasible.

In the meantime we kindly ask the public to understand that this property has now passed into private hands and the legal responsibility of the park and castle lies with us personally. At this time the park is not safe for visitors due to the lack of maintenance of the roads and woodlands over the past decades. Equally all of the buildings are extremely unsafe, and with the ongoing park clearance and building works the entire property is unsafe for public visitation. As such the park and historic buildings will be closed until our planned opening in 2028.

For any questions please use our contact form and we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible. To keep updated please sign up to our mailing list.

With grateful thanks,

Colorful, ornate architectural detail with intricate tile work, columns, and decorative arches, likely from a historic building or palace.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the Fondazione Panciatichi, to Save Sammezzano and many other individuals for their tireless work over the past years.

Through their dedication, campaigns, and constant advocacy, they have kept the light of Sammezzano alive during a time when it risked being forgotten. Their passion and commitment have preserved not only the memory of this extraordinary place, but also the hope for its future.

It is thanks to their efforts that Sammezzano continues to inspire admiration and love around the world. We are deeply grateful for everything they have done to protect and promote this unique heritage, and we look forward to carrying their work forward into the next chapter of Sammezzano’s story.
